Pakistan releases captured Indian Air Force pilot
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry issued a statement on the 1st, announcing that the Palestinian side had released the previously captured Indian Air Force pilots in the evening and passed through Wagga near Lahore, Punjab, eastern Pakistan. The border crossing was handed over to the Indian side.
According to the media broadcast, the Pakistani officials and the captured Indian Air Force pilots arrived at the Wagga border crossing at around 15:50 on the 1st. After fulfilling the relevant procedures, the Pakistani side handed over the pilot to the Indian side. At around 20:53, the pilot, accompanied by his family and Indian officials, crossed the border into Indian territory.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi said that the Pakistani side released the Indian Air Force pilot without any preconditions. Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan announced on February 28 that in order to ease tensions with India, Pakistan will release the Indian Air Force pilots captured on March 1st. He said that "two countries with weapons of mass destruction should not go to the path of war" and Pakistan seeks to achieve peace with India.
On February 14, at least 40 Indian Central Reserve Police soldiers were killed in an explosion in Indian-controlled Kashmir. The religious militant group "Muhammad Army" declared the attack. On the 26th, Indian Air Force fighters crossed the actual control line of India and Pakistan in Kashmir and bombed the "Muhammad Army" camp in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.
