US air strikes killed 26 Somali "Youth Party" militants
The US Army's African Command issued a statement on March 1 stating that the US military implemented the "Youth Party" target of extremist organizations in central Somalia on February 28. Air strikes killed 26 armed elements in the organization.
According to the statement, the US military’s target is located in Hiran, central Somalia, where no civilians have been killed or injured in the air strikes. The US military will continue to cooperate with the African Union Mission in Somalia and the Somali government forces to fight the "Youth Party".

On the evening of February 28, a car bomb attack in the Somali capital Mogadishu has caused 36 deaths and 60 injuries. The "Youth Party" claimed to have created the attack.
