Two days after the hijacking of two Catholic clerics in Ondo express, the associated ruffians have requested an aggregate with N100 million as a payment for their discharge.

The two clerics, Rev. Fr. Joseph Nweke and Rev. Fr. Felix Efobi from Awka Catholic Diocese were said to have been captured on Benin-Owo Highway at Elegbeka zone of Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, on their approach to Akure, the state capital, for a wedding service, on Friday evening.

Talking with DAMSINIER  EDITOR , the Director of Media and Communications of the Ondo Catholic Diocese, Rev. Fr. Leo Aregbesola affirmed that the abductors had approached Sunday to request the payment.

He stated, "I was told from their ward today that the abductors have reached the congregation and they were requesting a payoff of N100million. That is the most recent for the time being. They have not been discharged."

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph said the state chief of police had requested men of the direction to move in and pursue the criminals while the examination concerning the episode was all the while progressing.
