BREAKING: Tanker explosion: Welder burnt to death, 3 injured in Awka
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) on Tuesday affirmed the passing of one individual, while three others continued different degrees of consumes in an oil tanker blast at a welder's workshop in Amawbia zone of Awka in Anambra.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, who affirmed the episode to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka said that the blast was brought about by welding fixes being completed on the tanker.
"A blast happened at a welders' workshop around Amawbia Bridge in Awka at about 3.00p.m from a tanker stacked with oil.
"The blast happened when a welder (names witheld) in the workshop was conveying welding fixes on the tanker stacked with fuel.
"The welder was affirmed dead, while three individuals who were around the area of blast supported different degrees of consumes and have been taken to the clinic.
"The remaining parts of the deseased had been stored at the funeral home," he said.
