JUST IN, Oil theft: Navy hands over vessel, 9 suspects to EFCC

The Nigerian Navy Ship Delta (NNS Delta), on Monday, January 13, 2020 gave over an engine vessel, MV Salvation and its nine team individuals to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Benin Zonal Office, whom she captured for their supposed contribution in unlawful oil bunkering.

The suspects are: Tamuno Abereniboye, John Gwuene, Simon President, Nice Bien, Daniel Aghovwieokpo, Prince Ogun, Jabu Kimidengiyefa, Daniel People, Olawale Bello.

The nine suspects 
Captain AV Kujoh, who spoke to NNS Delta at the giving over of the suspects in Warri expressed that the vessel and its team individuals were captured by Nigerian Navy Ship Zaria (NNS Zaria) around Escravos for transshipment of around 50,000 liters of suspected illicitly refined automative gas oil, (AGO).

MV Salvation 
Accepting the vessel and the suspects for the benefit of the EFCC, Richard Ogberagha, said the Commission would complete further examinations and guarantee that those discovered at fault were brought to book.
